Got an Idea? Here’s How to Book a Free Call With Us
A short, friendly 15-minute call is the easiest way to start your project. Here’s how to request one and what happens next.
Most people who get in touch with us have the same worry: “I have an idea, but I don’t know how to explain it.” If that’s you, a short call is usually the easiest way to start. You can request one in a couple of minutes, either through our website or by asking Hamm, our AI assistant, in the bottom right corner of the screen. Here’s how requesting one works, what happens on the call, and how to get more out of it.
Why a call and not just a form?
Forms are fine for simple questions. But a website, a custom system or an IT problem rarely fits into a few text boxes. Half the time the real answer shows up in the second or third question: “Wait, do customers need to log in?” or “Is this meant to replace your spreadsheet, or sit next to it?”
A conversation lets us ask those questions while the idea is still fresh in your head. It also lets you ask ours: how long it takes, what it costs, what happens after launch. You leave knowing whether we’re a good fit, and we leave knowing what you actually need.
What the call is (and isn’t)
It’s a free, 15-minute video call. That’s it. There’s no sales script, no pressure to sign anything and no jargon you have to nod along to.
Fifteen minutes is short on purpose. It’s long enough to talk through what you have in mind and spot the simplest way forward. It’s not long enough for us to design your whole project, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If your idea needs a deeper conversation, we’ll say so and suggest the next step.
How to request one, step by step
There are two easy ways to start.
Option 1: Ask Hamm, our AI assistant
Hamm is the AI assistant at the bottom right of every page on our site. Hamm isn’t a person, but it’s built to help you get in touch quickly. Click Hamm and a “Request a free call” button is right there the moment the chat opens. Tap it and the booking window opens.
You can also just tell Hamm what you want, in your own words. Phrases like these work:
- “I want to request a call”
- “I need to book a call”
Hamm understands that you’re asking for a call and points you straight to the booking window, so you never have to hunt for the right page.
Option 2: Use the Contact page
Prefer to skip the chat? Head to the Contact page or use the “Request a free call” button on the site. It opens the same booking window.
The booking window
A small window walks you through three short steps:
- Pick a day. The calendar highlights the days we’re available. You can book up to two weeks ahead, and the available days are weekdays, Monday to Friday. Greyed-out days simply aren’t open.
- Pick a time. Slots run through the working day, Nairobi time, in 15-minute steps. You can switch between 12-hour and 24-hour clocks, whichever you find easier to read.
- Leave your details. We ask for your name and email. There’s also an optional box where you can tell us a little about your idea. One line is fine. So is a paragraph.
Then you hit the button, and you’ll see a “Request received” screen. A small detail worth knowing: it’s a request, not an instant booking. We look at it, and then we email you a Google Meet link to confirm the time. Keep an eye on that inbox, and check your spam folder if you don’t see anything.
“You don’t need a brief, a budget or the right words. A rough idea is a perfectly good place to start.”
Calling from a different time zone?
We’re based in Nairobi, but plenty of the people we talk to aren’t. If your device is set to another time zone, the booking window notices and gives you a switch between “My time” and “Nairobi” so you can see each slot in your own local time. It also saves your time zone with your request, which means nobody has to do mental maths later.
Nairobi is on East Africa Time (UTC+3) all year and doesn’t change its clocks, so if you’re somewhere with daylight saving, double-check the offset in the weeks when your clocks move.
What happens on the call
Every conversation is a bit different, but most of them follow the same rough shape.
- A quick hello, and you tell us about your business or idea in your own words.
- We ask questions. Who is it for? What should people be able to do? What’s working today, and what’s frustrating?
- We share our honest first thoughts on the simplest path. Sometimes that’s a straightforward website. Sometimes it’s something smaller than you expected. Occasionally it’s something bigger, and we’ll tell you that too.
- You ask whatever you like: timelines, rough costs, how payment works, what support looks like after launch.
- We agree on what happens next, even if that’s “go away and think about it”.
For context, our web plans start at USD 450 and most projects take somewhere between 5 and 13 weeks, depending on scope and how quickly feedback comes back. We’ll talk about where your idea sits in that range, and we agree scope, timeline and cost before any work starts.
A few things that make the call more useful
You really don’t have to prepare. But if you want to get the most out of fifteen minutes, these help:
- Know the problem, not the solution. “Customers keep calling to ask our prices” tells us more than “I need a pricing page”.
- Bring examples. Two or three websites you like (or really dislike) save a lot of explaining.
- Have a rough timeline in mind. A launch date, a season, an event. Even “sometime this year” helps.
- Think about who else decides. If a partner or manager signs off, tell us. It changes how we plan the next steps.
- Join from somewhere quiet with a decent connection. Video helps, but if your internet is shaky, audio only is fine.
If you can’t wait, or can’t make a slot
Life happens. If the times on offer don’t suit you, send us a message instead and mention what works for you. We reply within one working day, and we’re happy to suggest a time that fits.
If something is urgent, WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us. You can also call us directly on +254 742 274 313. Our team is generally available Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm Nairobi time.
And if your plans change after you’ve requested a call, just let us know by email or WhatsApp. No awkwardness, we’d rather know than have you sit through a call you don’t need.
Questions people often ask
Is the call really free?
Yes. There’s no charge and no obligation to work with us afterwards.
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. If anything, we’d rather you describe things in plain words. Translating them into technical terms is our job.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. Forward them the Google Meet link, or mention them in your notes so we know to expect them.
What if I don’t have a clear idea yet?
That’s fine, and honestly quite common. Tell us what feels broken or slow in your business and we’ll work out together whether technology can help.
Can I request a call without going to the Contact page?
Yes. Click Hamm, our AI assistant, at the bottom right of any page. The “Request a free call” button is there as soon as the chat opens, or you can type something like “I want to request a call” or “I need to book a call” and Hamm will take you to the booking window.
Ready when you are
If you’ve been sitting on an idea, or you’ve got a website that doesn’t quite do its job, a quick conversation will tell you more than another week of wondering. Pick a day, choose a time, and tell us a little about what you’re thinking. We’ll take it from there.
Your vision, our code.
