Website Care Plans Explained
Building a website is only half the job. Here’s what our monthly care plans cover, which one suits your site, and how to get started from USD 25 a month.
Building a website is only half the story. The other half is keeping it secure, backed up and working properly month after month, and that part is easy to forget until something goes wrong. That's what our care plans are for. Here's what they include, who each one suits, and how to start.
Why a website needs looking after
Once a site is live, the internet keeps moving underneath it. Software gets updates, security issues get found and fixed, domains and certificates expire, and the odd thing breaks for no obvious reason. None of this is dramatic on its own. But if nobody is watching, small problems pile up, and the first person to notice is usually a customer.
The common ones we see:
- Outdated software that leaves a site open to security problems
- A domain or SSL certificate that quietly expires, and suddenly visitors see a scary warning
- No recent backup when something finally goes wrong
- Small content changes that sit on a to-do list for months because nobody has the time
A care plan takes that list off your shoulders. You pay a fixed monthly amount, and we handle the updates, the backups and the small changes so your site keeps working while you run your business.
The three plans
We keep it simple. There are three monthly plans, priced in US dollars. Each one builds on the one before it.
Care Lite: USD 25 a month
For a simple site that mostly needs to stay online, secure and backed up. It includes:
- Site health and SSL checks
- Regular backups
- Security and software updates
- Domain and SSL renewal reminders
- Email support
This suits a straightforward business website, a portfolio or a brochure site that doesn't change much from month to month.
Care Standard: USD 60 a month
For a business site that changes now and then and can't afford downtime. It's our most popular plan. You get everything in Care Lite, plus:
- 2 hours a month for content and design changes
- Uptime checks
- WhatsApp support
If you regularly need a new photo swapped in, a price updated, a section reworded or a page tweaked, this is the one. WhatsApp support also means you can message us the way you probably message everyone else.
Care Plus: USD 120 a month
For shops, booking sites and systems that earn money every day. You get everything in Care Standard, plus:
- 6 hours a month for changes and improvements
- A monthly performance and SEO check
- Priority support
When your website is part of how you make a living, a slow day or a broken page costs you real money. The extra hours let us keep improving the site, not just maintaining it.
“A website you launched and forgot about slowly turns into a liability. One that someone is looking after keeps earning its place.”
Which plan should you pick?
A rough way to think about it:
- Your site rarely changes and you mainly want peace of mind? Care Lite.
- You update things every few weeks and want quick help when you need it? Care Standard.
- Your site takes orders, bookings or payments, or you're constantly improving it? Care Plus.
If you're stuck between two, choose the closest one and tell us about your site in the note when you request it. We'll suggest the right plan before you pay anything. And if you'd rather talk it through, you can request a free 15-minute call.
How to get started
It's a short process, and nothing is charged until you've agreed the details.
- Send us your request. Fill in the short form on the Care Plans page with your name, email, your website address and anything we should know. A phone or WhatsApp number is optional.
- We reply and confirm. We check your website, confirm what's included in your plan and agree the amount of the first payment.
- You get a payment link. We send a secure Paystack payment link by email or WhatsApp. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or M-PESA where available.
- Your plan starts. It begins once that first payment is made.
Paying in shillings
Plans are priced in US dollars, but you pay in Kenya shillings. The amount is charged at the exchange rate we agree with you, so you know what you're paying before you pay it.
What we need from you
Mainly your website address and a way into the site so we can do the work. We tell you exactly what we need when you request a plan. You can change or take back that access at any time. One practical note: if we don't have the access we need, we may not be able to deliver the plan's services until it's sorted.
A few honest points
We'd rather you hear these from us than find them out later.
- Plans cover what's listed. Work that falls outside a plan, or goes beyond the monthly hours, may need a separate quote or payment, and we agree that before starting.
- Monitoring isn't a guarantee. Uptime and site health checks help us spot problems early, but they can't promise a site will never have an interruption, especially when the cause is outside our control, like a hosting provider.
- Backups are a safeguard. We take them regularly, but it's still wise to keep your own copies of important content and data.
- Renewal reminders are a courtesy. Domain, hosting and SSL fees are paid to the provider unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
- Prices and inclusions are a guide. We confirm the details with you before your first payment.
Common questions
Do I need a care plan if you built my website?
It's optional. Some clients prefer to handle things themselves, and that's fine. A care plan is there for those who would rather not think about updates and backups.
Can I care-plan a website you didn't build?
Send us your website address and tell us a bit about it. We'll take a look and tell you honestly what we can do.
Can I switch plans later?
If your needs change, just tell us. We'll talk it through and suggest what fits.
Ready to stop worrying about it?
Head to the Care Plans page, pick the closest plan and tell us about your site. We'll take it from there, and you can get back to running your business.
